HEADWATERS

The headwaters are those of the Nueces River in Texas on the Edwards Plateau, a vast area of Texas stretching from Austin and San Antonio to the deserts of West Texas.

In Headwaters, what begins as a simple yet profound love story, with all the innocence and purity of first love, soon morphs into something dangerous. Mariah questions her world as evil invades paradise and the adventure begins.

The small family is fascinated by a place that eventually consumes them. As Houston City folk, the wild barrenness of the hot dry landscape of a Texas Ranch is enchanting. Mariah and David find the virgin acres of land with fresh natural springs to be a sort of Eden. But Paradise has often been host to mystery.  The Ranch in Headwaters is no exception.

THE FORGOTTEN TRIBE

A dry Wind blows through the grasses and sage brush. The Texas ranch seems vacant and abandoned. The tribe of Apache Indians are still here living in peace, a simple life, oblivious of the modern world. Time passes and gradually misfits, loners, artists, seekers, preppers, and Mariah and David find their way back to Eden.

Mysterious happenings in part one have escalated. The modern world seems intent on self-destruction if not through drought, famine, epic storms, or war. Farming the land for sustenance, while mysteries remain and leads are followed, they walk the fine line of who to trust and who to love.

A community is forged out of this unlikely band of misfits.  Regardless of differences in ethnicity, social, economics, age, and circumstance, they are unified by a common ideology.

Freedom is their song, as together they raise their voices to proclaim this, survival is their birthright.

THE PROPHET'S LOVER

At age 16, Kahlil Gibran was a beautiful boy from Lebanon newly arrived in Boston’s South end. This story chronicles his transcendence from his early years as a young artist, to a student in Paris, to poet and author, until finally he bears the mantle of the wise prophet of the age as his book The Prophet reaches best-seller of all time status in the 70’s.  Yet he did not achieve this alone. Forever by his side was Mary Elizabeth Haskell.   She stood by as benefactress, teacher, and most importantly, soulmate, and true friend from their meeting when he was 21 until long after his death. His word lives on.

The Prophet’s Lover is their story.  She met him at his first art exhibit. Over time their liaison flowed and twined and evolved like all great loves. What is true friendship, but a forever flow of leader to follower, teacher and student, lover and beloved? Theirs is an interweaving of two souls,  with a rich life path. Great friendships are born and made through time. Their love story is beautiful, poignant, painful, joyous, and above all real. The Prophet’s Lover is a roller coaster ride of tumultuous emotion. Not for the faint of heart.  This is a portrait of two very real people living extraordinary lives.
